Affiliation: Cheshire County F.A.
Cammell Laird F.C. is a football
club based at Kirklands Stadium in Rock Ferry, Birkenhead, Merseyside,
England. We were established in 1907 and in a 35 year post war period
won the West Cheshire League 19 times. We reached the Quarter-Finals
of the FA Vase in the season 1994-95 but have since bettered that
by reaching the Semi-finals in 2005-06
After making the decision to attempt
to climb the non league football pyramid, in season 2005-06 'The
Lairds' made history by becoming the first team to win the championship
of the second and first divisions of the North West Counties League
in succession in our first two seasons in that league, scoring over
250 league goals in the process.
Lairds exists as the football section of the Lairds Sports Club
(93), the club was set up to provide sporting and social activities
for the employees of the world famous shipyard Cammell Lairds, builders
of The Ark Royal, Alabama and Mauritania as well as countless others.
The shipyard is sadly no longer with us but we carry the famous
name proudly.
Season 2006-07 sees Lairds enter the UniBond Northern Premier Division
One, The FA Trophy and hopefully a pathway to many more great days
